Nintendo inheritor donates $2.5 million to rescue Kyoto canal

An inheritor to the late founding father of Nintendo is planning on donating 300 million yen, or about $2.48 million USD, to assist restore Kyoto’s historic Takase River, a canal inbuilt 1614.

It’s been leaking water resulting from its age, so town began restoration work again in 2010. Nonetheless, resulting from Kyoto’s fiscal strains, the challenge stalled.

Due to this donation, restoration work ought to resume quickly. It’s presently estimated to be completed by the top of March 2024.
