How to Consume Lemon Ginger

Make an infusion

  1. Boil 30 to 40 cl of water.
  2. When boiling, add 1 teaspoon of powdered ginger, or 1 teaspoon of grated fresh ginger.
  3. Squeeze the juice from half a lemon.
  4. Cover and leave to infuse for 10 mins.

It is advisable to drink this herbal tea on an empty stomach, why not accompanied by a little honey to sweeten the drink.

I like to let it cool and put it in the fridge, it’s one of the most thirst-quenching drinks in the summer, like a kind of lemonade.

Add ginger and lemon to your tea

Prepare your cup of tea:

  1. boil 25 cl of water
  2. add 1 teaspoon of tea, 1/2 teaspoon of ginger powder or 1/2 tablespoon of grated fresh ginger, and leave to infuse for 5 min.
  3. Filter, squeeze the juice of 1/2 lemon and it’s ready!

Prepare a syrup of ginger, honey and lemon

Really effective against cough, this syrup can be stored in the refrigerator for 3 or 4 months without problem. The method :

  1. Peel 5 cm of a ginger root and cut it into thin slices
  2. Squeeze the juice of 2 lemons into a glass jar, add the slices of ginger and cover everything with honey.
  3. Leave to rest for a few days in the fridge and it’s ready!

In case of sore throat take a spoon 3 or 4 times a day, like any syrup.

Use them in the kitchen

To enjoy the benefits of these two ingredients, this is surely not the most appropriate way, because I am not sure that you add ginger and lemon to all meals!
