Farming Simulator 22 is the latest entry in the simulation series from Giants Software. This entry is their biggest title in the series yet, and features tons of new gameplay mechanics, and improved visuals. Farming Simulator 22 has been met with positive reception from both critics and fans of the series. While it runs very well, for the most part, it does lack some options we’ve gotten used to in PC gaming. If you want to unlock the Farming Simulator 22 FPS, here is how you can do that.
The game is a massive hit on Steam and peaked with over 105K concurrent players too. It has a “Very Positive” rating from Steam users as well and has surpassed its previous entries. If you are running into any issues with crashing, at launch or during gameplay, make sure to check out our guide for it.
Unlocking the Farming Simulator 22 FPS
By default, Farming Simulator 22 is locked to 60 FPS. This means that even if your hardware is easily capable of pushing that limit, the in-game options don’t let you cross that limit. However, you can bypass this easily by following the steps below.
- First, head over to the following location
C:UsersYOUR USERNAMEDocumentsMy GamesFarmingSimulator2022
- Here, open the game.xml file using a text editor like Notepad or Notepad++
- Now, change the value of the following variables
- Save the file (Ctrl+S) and exit out
- Now, launch Farming Simulator 22
- Press F2 to view your FPS
- After that, press F3 to unlock those
Essentially you are accessing developer commands to tinker with the game. The developers have locked the framerate to 60 FPS for some reason, but this little edit in the file gives you control over the game.
It is possible that v-sync will cause FPS issues, so it’s best to turn that off if you are using this method.
